At Columbine Animal Hospital, we offer a wide variety of surgical services. We know the thought of surgery can be scary, but we take every surgical procedure seriously and have strict protocols to ensure a safe surgical procedure for your pet. This includes:
- Pre-surgical blood work to ensure they can properly metabolize anesthesia and are a healthy candidate for the procedure
- An exam on all new patients and an up-to-date exam on all current patients
- IV catheter placement in the event of an emergency as well as to provide fluids during the surgical procedure to keep them hydrated and maintain good blood pressure
- Close monitoring during the entire procedure with a technician and advanced equipment
- Heat source during anesthesia to keep them warm
- Post-surgical pain management
Surgical requirements:
Dogs: up-to-date on wellness exam, Rabies vaccine, DA2PP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine
Cats: up-to-date on wellness exam, Rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccine
